Andre Lee Brown

Andre Lee Brown was born August 29, 1962 to Norma Brown in Chicago, IL.

Ms Brown had a hard life trying to raise 13 children, so Andre and his sister Debra entered into foster care. Foster care was hard also. Andre and his sister clung to each other as best friends. They talked to each other EVERY day.

Andre finished high school and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. After his discharge, Andre set about making a life for himself. He never married and didn't have children, but that didn't keep him from being a loveable guy. He was a hard worker, sometimes working two jobs. He was a general laborer for Proctor and Gamble for many years.

When Andre wasn't working you could find him outdoors. He loved nature and would walk or fish or just sit outside and enjoy the sun. Andre also like to play cards and the trash talking found in a good game of Bid Whist. He was a good cook also. Several years ago, Andre moved to Iowa City and then on to Des Moines. Andre liked the quiet character of Iowa, but he was still a die hard Cubs fan.

Andre passed away January 2, 2017. Time and distance have removed most of his family from him, except his sister, Debra.

He will be going home to Illinois for a memorial service with honors.Celebration of Life
