Carol Williams

Funeral arrangements are pending.

Carol Jean (Jenkins) Williams was born on March 6, 1950 to Scott Jenkins, Sr. and Bertha Cozetta (Webb) Jenkins, in Des Moines, IA. She graduated from Des Moines Technical High School. After graduation she started working at Principal Financial Corporation.

Carol received the gift of the Holy Ghost at an early age at Apostolic Faith Temple in Des Moines, Iowa, under the pastorate of Elder William D. Andrews. After which, the Lord led her to Calvary Church of God, and then to Christ Apostolic Temple, where Bishop Jeremiah Reed was the Pastor, both in Des Moines. She worked as a faithful member, who regularly attended services and travelled to numerous church conventions. While attending Christ Apostolic Temple, Carol met the love of her life, Lanard (Lanny) Williams. The two were soon joined in marriage. Two children were born to this union, Lance Jordan and Bertha Jean.

After much prayer and consecration, the Lord directed her path to Faith Apostolic Temple, Kansas City, Kansas, where Suffragan Bishop Wardell Watkins is the Pastor. Sister Carol was an awesome, distinctive, prayerful, honest, sincere, loving, wise, blessed, anointed, integrity filled, virtuous Woman of God. Sister Carol was an encourager and a mighty prayer warrior. She was a devoted nurturing daughter, sister, wife and mother.

Anyone who knew Sister Carol can attest to her faith and love for God. She was extremely pleasant never allowing any negativity from the adversary to sway her from her beliefs. Sister Carol always saw the good in people and uplifted them with her wisdom and words of encouragement. She recognized peoples character flaws and would share words of reassurance which motivated change in their lives. She was always willing to offer a positive word, a prayer, and/or scripture. Sister Carol was an inspiration and divine influence to all. She was in daily contact and prayer with her Mother, Evangelist Bertha Jenkins who was her principal confidant, advocate, inspiration, spiritual advisor, and friend.

Sister Carol went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 16, 2019, while visiting her sister in Kansas City, KS. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lanard; parents, Scott and Bertha Jenkins; her daughter, Bertha Jean Williams; her grandson, Tyrese Washington; her sister and best friend, Venita Lee; her brothers, Carl Jenkins, Sr., Scott Jenkins, Jr. and Darryl Jenkins; her niece JaVanna Lee and nephews Carl Jenkins, Jr. and Kevin Hall.

Left to cherish Carol's memory is her son, Lance (Candice) Williams of Des Moines, Iowa; her second daughter, Cozetta Jenkins of Kansas City, Missouri; sisters, Antoinette (Charles, Jr.) Battle of Des Moines, Iowa, Dr. Mozella (Armand, Jr.) Dyer of Kansas City, Kansas, Attorney Brenda (Suffragan Bishop Wardell, Jr.) Watkins of Olathe, Kansas and Charlotte Jackson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; her grandchildren, Dashawn, Eugene, Nakiya, Deja, Karma, Isaiah, Lance Jr., Malik, Nate, Ruby Bertha, Samiya, and Cozetta, along with a host of many relatives, friends, and church family.
