Daisy Mae Groves

Daisy Mae (Roush) Groves was born on January 29, 1928 to Charles and Delsy Roush, in Peru, IA. Her family relocated to Des Moines, IA where she completed her secondary education at East High School.

Daisy dedicated her life to caring for her family as a homemaker. She was blessed with five children: Charles, Patricia, Margaret, Rick, Edwin and Pam. She gave each of her children a nickname and would almost never use there birth names, such as; Sissy, Love Bug and Jesser to name a few. She even continued this practice with her grandchildren.

During her personal time, Daisy enjoyed playing cards, gambling and playing bingo. She also loved to explore and travel for extended periods of time when she was able. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend who we will continue to remember in our stories passed down to many future generations.

Daisy is survived by her children, Rick, Edwin and Pam Prothero; numerous grandchildren; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Charles Prothero; daughters, Patricia Kaufman and Margaret Prothero; and her parents.
