Deirdre Louise Jackson - Jones

Deirdre Louise Jackson burst onto the world scene October 27, 1970. She was all smiles and abundant energy from the beginning. Born to Beverly (Lowery) Webster and Bernard Jackson, she was educated in the Des Moines Public School system. Once through high school, "Dosie" as she was affectionately called, attended Iowa State University. While pursuing her degree in Transportation Logistics, Lewis Jones was captured by her infectious spirit. They were married October 25, 2003. She later accepted her calling into ministry and was pursuing her Masters degree at Chicago Theological Seminary. Always the student.

Deirdre loved to sing and dance. She missed her comedic calling as she was the life of any party. Her flair for drama made her a great storyteller. Reading stories to her children was a dramatic production with different voices and attitudes. She loved travelling and meeting people, genuinely interested in their culture and lifestyle. Deirdre was a great cook. She liked to experiment with new recipes. She liked to knit and was very creative with making her home a cozy nest for her family and friends. Family, friends and relationships were paramount in her life. Deirdre loved being a mother. The responsibility of raising another human was very important to her. Within her diverse circle of acquaintances, she had the ability to make them all feel they were her best friends.

She was an ACTIVIST!! Deidre was keenly aware of her world and the injustices that abound. She railed and rallied against issues big and small in Womens rights, reproductive rights, educational inequities, racial equality and planetary integrity. And even with those lofty thoughts swirling in her head, she would manage to break out in song in the middle of the grocery store.

And suddenly, she was gone. Deirdre took on the task of re-organizing Heaven on March 23, 2017. Waiting to welcome her were her grand parents, Bill and Mary Lowery; her aunt, Toni McMichael and stepfather, Jonathan Duncan.

Deirdre leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Lewis Jones; her sons, Lawrence, Lance and Logan; her mother, Min. Beverly Webster (Rev. Fred); father, Bernard Jackson (Sheila); siblings, Kendal Jackson, Aldan Jackson and Tonya Duncan; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and countless friends and internet followers.
