Dephlan Darling

Dephlan Darling was born on May 30, 1960 to DeVotie and Lilyan (Vincent) Darling in Des Moines, IA. Dephlan was educated in the Des Moines Public School System. He graduated from Hoover High School, where he was also on the wrestling team.



Dephlan loved his children and spent as much time as possible with them, when he wasn't on the road. Dephlan was quiet until you got to know him. Once he opened up you could see he had a great personality. He was a gentlemen with a warm smile, who never met a stranger.



Dephlan was the owner-operator of Triple D Transport LLC. He owned his own business for the past 8 years and spent long hours on the road.



Dephlan was very competitive. He enjoyed body building and wrestling along side his long time running buddy Anthony Bates. The two of them did everything together. Dephlan was always resourceful and liked to fix things. He had a passion for anything with wheels! He loved to ride motorcycles, ATV's, and drive fast cars. Dephlan was also an animal lover. He enjoyed farming, raising dogs and his horses, Cisco and Sweets.



Dephlan stepped from time into eternity on October 29, 2015. Waiting to welcome him home was his mother, Lilyan Vincent Darling.



Left to cherish Dephlan's memory are his father, DeVotie Jr.

(Mattie Matlock) Darling; his children, Gavin and Brianna Darling; his siblings, Dahinda (Patrick) Harmeyer, DeVotie Darling III, Anthony Bates, Ramona (Richard) Bates-Singleton, Venita (Rodney) Bates-Price, Yvette Bates and Ethel (Dion) Darling-Manuel; and his companion, Nicole Merriman, along with a host of extended family and friends.
