Paula Jane Moore

Paula Jane Moore was born on June 5, 1945 to Lehman C. Moore and Gloria (Simmons) Bumpus, in Des Moines, IA. She was educated in the Des Moines Public School District and graduated from North High School. She later continued her education at Drake University.



Paula was blessed with two children, Fonda and Garry, who she loved with all of her heart.



Paula came to know Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age. She was a member of Maple Street Missionary Baptist Church and served as an usher with Usher Board #2. When she wasn't at church she loved to listen to gospel music and hardly ever missed an episode of Bobby Jones Gospel.



In her free time Paula enjoyed a variety of activities. She was a loyal football fan and would cheer for her Chicago Bears every week. Blessed with a green thumb, Paula loved to work in her garden and admire her hard work. She enjoyed watching her flowers bloom and was especially delighted when she'd see butterflies flying from petal to petal. Ms. Moore was also a great cook. Her baked pies and sweet potatoes were her special delicacy.



On November 3, 2014 Paula answered the Master's call and stepped from time into eternity. She was reunited on the other side with her dad, Lehman C. Moore.



Left to cherish her memory are her children, Fonda Franklin and Garry (Sissy) Franklin; her grandchildren, Brentnie R. Gibson, Wilshaun Franklin and Oshay Franklin; her parents, Rev. Willie and Gloria Bumpus; a sister, Rebecca (Joe) Jackson; a niece, Tione Hicks; a nephew, Trai Hicks and a host of cousins, aunties, relatives and other friends.
