Sherine McFeders was born on June 24, 1942 to Walter and Willetta Carter in Des Moines, IA. Sherine was a lifelong resident of Des Moines.

Sherine was a graduate of the Des Moines Public School Systems. She attended North High School. Sherine obtained her Associates degree from DMACC and later pursued a Bachelors degree at Drake University in accounting.

Sherine was a faithful, devoted member of Philadelphia Seventh Day Adventist Church for over 35 years.

Sherine was married twice and from those unions had 2 children; Todd and Vincent.

Sherine had many hobbies. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, knitting, quilting, word puzzles, computer games and photography to name just a few. She loved to spend time outdoors gardening but didn't like bugs. Sherine was a great cook, she learned from her mother to make mac&cheese and the very best sugar cookies in the world.

Sherine went to sleep on January 31, 2015. Proceeding her in death were her parents; Walter and Willetta Carter, her brother; Walter Carter Jr., her sister; Adrienne Carter, her aunt Olga Hill, her uncle; Johnny Bibbs and her ex-husbands; Harold McFeders and Robert Smith.

Left to cherish Sherine's memory are her children; Vincent Thomas and Todd Smith, her grandchildren; Rashonda, Tamika, DeMarco, Jaylah, Natasha, Letreaya, Carissa, Jessica, Zachary, Mikayla and Samarah, her brothers; Darryl, Ivan Kelly and Kirk, her sisters; Trudy, Olga and Georgette, along with a host of extended relatives and friends.
