Wallace Obie Sr

Wallace Donnell Obie Sr. was born on July 10, 1950 to Bob and Mary (Lee) Belcher in Kansas City, MO. Wallace lived the majority of his life in Kansas City, MO before moving to Des Moines, IA two years ago.

Wallace was a life long humanitarian. He volunteered for various agencies around the Des Moines area including Hope Ministries and the Salvation Army. He will also be remembered for his culinary delights. Wallace's fried potatoes and chicken, apple cobbler and sweet potatoes were "second to none"! A ladies man, Wallace always knew what to say to make them feel like "one in a million." He had an outgoing, energetic spirit and was loved by all. Wallace also loved listening to the old Motown classics.

On October 26, 2016 Wallace transitioned from time to eternity. He was reunited on the other side with two children, Yolanda Donnetta Obie and Yolonda Harbert; his parents and two brothers, James Obie and Richard Obie.

Left to cherish Wallace's memory are three children, La Conda Obie, Wallace Obie Jr. and Cassandra Figures; grandchildren, Alexia Kluppel, Kishon Bush, Shi-Nae Obie, Malik Obie, Darian Becker, D'zanae Fredrick and Shimae Obie; great-grandchildren, Aubrey Gibbs and Shailaja Obie; siblings, Timothy, Michaele and Denese and a host of other relatives and friends.
