Anthony Gilkey

Anthony Clarence 'Bubba' Gilkey passed away on August 8, 2019. A public visitation will be held at Henderson's Highland Park Funeral Home on August 24, 2019, from 10:00 until 12:00 p.m. funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m.

Anthony Clarence Gilkey was born to Tony Gilkey and Anita Lee on August 11, 1974, in Des Moines, Iowa. He was also raised by his step-father, Richard Hill, and attended North High School; graduating with the class of 1994.

Anthony was a big man, but he was an even bigger kid at heart! Anthony was family oriented and loved to spend time with family and friends whenever possible. Family get togethers were always lively as he entertained others with his playful spirit. Anthonys favorite leisure activities were football and wrestling. As you can tell, Anthony loved to eat and he enjoyed a variety of cuisines.

Anthony passed away on August 8, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Bernadette Hawkins; grandparents, Bill and Alice Henderson; nephew, Darnell Lee and a host of aunts and uncles.

Left to cherish Anthonys memory are his siblings, Tonya Lee, Alice Lee, Tyrone Lee, Joleen Lee, Richard Nickens, Dallas Hawkins, Sean Gilkey, Monique Gilkey, Trent Brown Sr., Teaondra Gilkey and Lisa Renee Ross; a recently discovered daughter and a host of other relatives and friends.
