Charles Gerhart

Charles 'Chuck' Gerhart was born April 11, 1935 in Valeria, Iowa to Clifford and Beulah (DeReus) Gerhart. He was educated in the Mingo, Iowa school system where he graduated.

After graduation, Chuck enlisted in the United States Army where he served overseas before being honorably discharged.

Chuck was the owner of New Way Construction.

Chuck passed away on July 18, 2013 at Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. He was 78 years old.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Beulah; his brother, Jim Gerhart and two infant daughters, Danielle Lynn and Denise Louise.

Left to mourn Chucks passing are his children and step-children, Dawn Wilts, Deb Gerhart, David Gerhart, Darren Gerhart, Charles Gerhart, Samantha Powell, Dena Gerhart and Scott Mills, along with his grandchildren extended relatives, employees and friends.

A graveside memorial service with military honors is planned for 2 pm July 30, 2013 at the McKeever Cemetery north of Colfax, Iowa.
