Services will take place at Hendersons Funeral Home with visitation beginning at noon and funeral services immediately following at 1:00 P.M., with Pastor Ike Brown officiating. Burial will take place at Glendale Cemetery afterwards.
Charlesetta E. Woods was born on March 10, 1936 in Fredonia, Kansas. She departed this life on May 10, 2025 at WellStar Hospital in Hiram, Georgia. She was the daughter of Elder Joseph Cook and Clara Cook. From this union were five sons and seven daughters. Proceeding her in death was her parents Elder Joseph and Clara Cook, a son Gregory Greenfield, two daughters Roxsetta Greenfield and Vicky Jo Greenfield. Her five brothers Chauncey, Carl, Johnnie, Eugene and Riley Cook. Her six sisters Joann Cook, Celestine Sayles, Dorothy Biggles, Florida Mae Hughes, Georgia Cook and Lena Lewis.
Charlesetta moved from Fredonia, Kansas at 9 years old in 1945. Her family relocated to Des Moines, Iowa. She moved to Denver, Colorado in 1973. She received the the Lord as her personal savior and friend in 1977. She accepted her calling to serve as an Ordained Minister. Charlesetta was the founder of the Restoration Center in 1994. As a licensed minister, (originally called into prison ministry), she recognized a need for a positive place women could go upon their release from prison. The center provided a safe, supportive, family oriented environment that focused on helping women develop spiritually, become financially stable, and independent. One of the primary goals of the Restoration Center was to help the woman develop a strong spiritual foundation. The center received referrals from prisons, churches and other shelters. The center required Charlesetta to be available 24/7 due to unexpected emergencies. Due to the decline in her eyesight she had to close the center in 2006. She continued to do prison ministry until she relocated to Dallas, Georgia in 2019. She was a member of Linked Up Church in Powder Springs, Georgia. She was an active member in the senior’s Forever Young ministry. Charlesetta was a caregiver for her disabled sister Georgia Cook for over 20 years until she past away in 2022. Charlesetta loved the Lord, reading, shopping, chair dance exercise, aqua aerobics, and vacationing in and out of the United States.
She leaves to cherish her in memory are three daughters, Robin Christy of Dallas, Georgia, Bobette Peters/Pimpton of Denver, Colorado and Toni Harrington of Des Moines, Iowa. She has nine grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren and a host of family and friends. Charlesetta will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her very much.
