Charlie Carr Jr. was born on July 16, 1943, to Charlie Carr Sr and Retha Mae Wilson in Crowder, Mississippi. He was raised and educated in the area, attending the Panola County school district.
Charlie was a jokester with a dry sense of humor who was always willing to lend a hand to his friends and family. He also was known for his frequent travels back and forth to Mississippi with a smile on his face. Charlie loved entertaining, cooking, listening to the blues and doling out life lessons and words of wisdom. He also loved to drive his 56 Chevy "Top Cat" and spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ruthie Mae and Charlie Carr Sr.; sisters, Lorene Burks,Addie Mae Watson and his son, Jerry Hawkins.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Johnney Nootenboom, Charles, Alvin, Andre, Anna and Charlotte Carr, Ronzell Brown; brother, James "Blue" Carr and his significant other, Judy, the Burks family, the Patton family, the Taylor Family, the Rankin family, the Watson family as well as a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
