Elmarien Pace, age 94, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2023


Elmarine Pace was born in Gholson, Mississippi on November 23, 1928 to Coraine and Walter Hickman. Elmarine confessed her belief in Jesus Christ as a young child. She was educated in the Mississippi Public School System.


Elmarine loved to fish, travel and cook for her family. She loved her grand-kids but Perry Ann and Demarco were very special. Perry Ann and Demarco devoted their lives to taking care of “Granny.” Elmarine played the harmonica & she loved blues and R&B. She also liked listening to Tyrone Davis and BB King.


Elmarine is proceeded in death by her parents, Corrine and Walter Hickman; daughter, Katie Payne; sons, John and William Pace; sisters, Addie Dugan and Ezzie Mcgraw; brothers, Benny, Albert Jr., Sonny Boy, and William D; Granddaughter, Perry Hickman.


She leaves to cherish her loving memories. Sister Colean Ball Of Palm Beach, FL; daughters, Mary Ross Of Clarkdale, MS, Judy Walton of Des Moines ,IA. Five sons, Robert (Martha) Pace, Elmer Pace, Clyde (Paulette) Pace, Donald Knowles, David (Patty) Walton all from Des Moines ,IA; sister-in law, Alberta Hickman from Porterville MS.

Elmarine also leaves behind 42 great grandkids, 37 great-great grandkids, 23 great-great-great grandkids and a host of nieces and nephews.
