Frances Louise Collier

Frances Louise (Johnson) Collier was born May 18, 1924 in Des Moines, Iowa to Ralph and Juanita (Johnson).

Frances was educated in the Des Moines Public School system where she graduated from East High School. She furthered her education by attending and graduating from the first class of Licensed Practical Nurses in the city. Frances spent 23 years as a nurse at the VA Hospital before she retired.

Frances ambition in life was to be a good Christian. She was baptized at Union Baptist Church but later joined True Bible Baptist Church. Frances sang in the gospel choir and did Missionary work. She enjoyed reading her bible every day and traveling .

Frances passed away peacefully on July 1, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Mr. Raleigh and Mr. Irwin Collier; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Johnson; her daughter, Valeria Collier and son, Dennis Raleigh; her brother, Ralph Johnson and sister, Carrie Bell Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her nephews, Harold Johnson and Leonard Johnson.

Left to cherish Frances memory are her daughters, Jessie Raleigh, Hazel Lacy and Pamela Collier; 9 grand children; great grandchildren and a special niece, Juanita Brown. Visitation
