James Adolphus Hughes, Jr.

James Adulphus Hughes Jr. was born on March 12, 1948 to James and Genovia (Brown) Hughes Sr. in Des Moines, IA. He was educated in the West Des Moines School District and graduated from Valley High School.

After graduating James entered the workforce. The majority of his working years were spent at the Iowa Packing House from which he retired. James was a sports fanatic. Baseball and Basketball were amongst his favorites as well as WWE wrestling. His favorite sports teams were the Kansas City Royals and the Boston Celtics and would watch them religiously. He also dabbled in penny poker and bingo from time to time.

Along lifes path James me Patricia Lee-Watts. The two grew to love each other during the dating phase of their relationship. Love grew into to marriage and they became a family with Patricias son Silas.

On March 26, 2018 James answered the Lords call to rest. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; his parents, James Sr. and Genovia; a brother, Freddie Lee Hughes and nephew, Charles Lamont Lovelady.

Left to cherish Jamess memory is his son, Silas Lee, Jr.; grandchildren, Alexis Lee and Phoenix Lee; siblings, Lee Earl Hughes of Des Moines, Jane Hughes of Des Moines, JoAnn Hughes of Des Moines and Terry Hughes of Olathe, KS, along with a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members.Visitation
