Johnny Ray Dock

Johnny Ray Dock passed away on February 15, 2021.

Johnny Ray Dock was on March 28, 1973 in Meridian, Mississippi, to Johnny Jones and Rosie Dianne Dock. Years later, Johnny was relocated to Des Moines, Iowa and was educated in the Des Moines public school system. He graduated from North High School, class of 1992.

John was a member of Our Savior Full Gospel Missionary Baptist Church and the United Steel Workers Union #310. He worked as a tire builder for Firestone for 24years. Some of his hobbies and interests included collecting knives, playing poker and spending time with his uncles. Above all, he loved his children and took joy in taking them where ever they wanted to go and spoiling them. John will be remembered for his caring heart and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

John passed away on February 15, 2021. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosie Dock-Bennett; maternal grandmother, Julia McCaleb; paternal grandmother, Grace Myers; uncles, Harris Dantzler and Jo Larry Dock and aunt, Nancy Dock-Brown.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Dock; children, Michael Johnston, Nicholas (Rosa) Johnston Sr., Darrius Dock, Heavenly Dock and Sorenity Dock; grandchildren, Kaden, Deliah and Nicholas, Jr.; parents, Reverend Donald Bennett and Johnny Jones; siblings, Patrina Dock, Antonio Windom, Chiletha Dock, Munchelo Dock and Littoree (Ina) Dock and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
