Keith Anthony Kennedy Sr.

Keith Kennedy passed away on January 15, 2022. A Gathering of Friends will be held Friday from 1 to 2pm at Henderson's Highland Park Funeral Home.

Keith Anthony Kennedy, Sr. was born October 12, 1957 in Davenport, Iowa to James Edward Kennedy and Delores Jean (Hilson) Kennedy. He graduated from Central High School in Davenport and also attended DMACC in Des Moines, IA.

Keith spent the early part of his life as a landscaper. He later transitioned into telesales. Keith was a self taught musician that could play several instruments including piano, bass and guitar. He loved R&B and the funk era of music. He was a great cook and his ham and bean soup was a family favorite. Don't forget his "made up cassaroles" either. They included a little of this and a little of that, but were always delicious. Keith like collecting model cars, watching horror movies and spending time with family and friends. He was a sharp dresser and liked smelling good.

Keith was preceded in death by his mom, Dolores Cade; dad, Robert "Shortman" Cade, father, John Grayson; aunt, Dorothy Roundtree; sister, Karen Kennedy, grandson, Elijah Kennedy and special friend Agnes McFedries Kennedy.

Keith is survived by his children, Keiana Kennedy (Cory Forquer), Venitchia Kennedy, Veleeka Harris, Athena Kennedy, Nylita Newell, Keith Kennedy, Jr.; his stepchildren, Susan Anderson and Robert Anderson; grandchildren, Troy Downey, Dominick and Elizabeth Ramierez, Freedom Robins, Jonna Bella and Gracie Buenzow and Konner Leonard as well as 20 other grandchildren and great grandchild he would have loved the opportunity to know better. His siblings/cousins, Derek "Beaver" Hilson and Daladier "Booboo" Roundtree Casey, Angela Lathan Evans, Kelly Grayson, Krystal Grayson, along with special friends, Ruth Kennedy and Beverly Couch and a host of others.
