Lavern Fields

Mr. LaVern Fields, 87, passed away April 17, 2019 in California.. LaVern was born in Des Moines to William and Mildred (Tillman) Fields. He was educated in the Des Moines School District, graduating from East High School. He went on to attend the University of Iowa where he attained an Associates degree. While in California he was employed as an investigator for the LA County Coroners office.

LaVern and his parents were long time members of Maple Street Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, traveling, gardening and being a member of the Elks Lodge in Des Moines.

LaVern was preceded in death by his wife Mamie (Prince) Fields; 3 children and a sister. He is survived by his sons, LaVern Jr,, Kent and Charles along with a brother and a host of grandchildren and friends.Graveside Service
