Mr. James Manuel

Mr. James Michael Manuel was born September 6, 1949 to Alvin Henry Manuel, Sr. and Carrie Jane Williams in Des Moines, Iowa.



"Mike" was educated in the Des Moines Public Schools and lived in Des Moines all of his life.



Mike was someone you just had to get to know to understand his personality. He was outspoken and had a great sense of humor. He was kind, loving and gentle. He loved his family and was especially close with the children. He enjoyed dancing and listening to old school and soul music. Mike also enjoyed riding bicycles, mopeds and going on walks. He loved his T.V. shows and cartoons. His favorite shows were Young & the Restless, Andy Griffith, and all the western shows and movies you could think of.



James Mike Manuel went to heaven on December 26, 2013 at the age of 64. He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Manuel, Sr.; his sisters, Norma Jean Manuel and Mary Evans; his grandparents; his niece, Donna Evans; and his nephew, Montez Thompson.



Michael will be greatly missed by his close relatives, Tracy (Alex) Simon who he lived with for nineteen years, Dustin (Natasha) Goben, Sr., Marcel Goben, Sr., Jodi Goben, Corey (Keisha) Taylor, Sr., Alexis Simon, and Alex Simon, Jr.; his mother, Carrie Manuel; his siblings, Alvin Manuel, Terry Manuel, Carol Hogan, Sharon Manuel, and Judy Manuel; many nieces and nephews; along with a host of extended family and friends.
