Ms. Jeanette L. Bruce

Jeanette Lena Bruce was born October 15, 1932 in Marshalltown, Iowa, the only child of Earl and Juanita Spencer Gilmore.



Jeanette and her family moved to Des Moines when she was still a child. She attended and graduated from East High School at the age of 16. Always a bright and inquisitive student, Jeanette went back to school and attained an Associates Degree in Science from Des Moines Area Community College. She also attended Drake University.



Jeanette was a Certified Home Health Care Assistant for many years. She loved taking care of people. She was generous and caring with everyone she met. Jeanette shared her wisdom with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her bright smile would light up a room and her kind voice would soothe your soul when you went to her with your troubles.



Jeanette loved the Lord and worshiped Him at Trinity Temple, when her health permitted. She served at Trinity Temple on the Mother's Board. She was also a member of the Nurses Board, Calanthe Court. of the Knights of Pythias.



On October 19, 2013, Jeanette answered the Master's call to rest. She had just turned 81 years old. Preceding her in death were her daughter, Janet Victoria Loggins and her son Louis Gene Martin, Jr. Also preceding her were her grandchildren, Rubin Sergio Tramier Bruce, Morgan Kristal Hunt and Malcolm Tajmier Hunt.



Left to cherish Jeanette's memory are her children, Vernon Brian Bundy, Jeanine K Martin, John Walter Harris, Roland Kemper Harris, Gary Isom Harris, Kristi Ann Bruce and Kerwin James Dobbins along with 18 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends
