Nancy LeAnn Malone was born October 22, 1937 to Willard Henderson and Clara Ione in Des Moines, Iowa.



Nancy was educated in the Des Public School System and graduated from East High School, where she was on the basketball team. Nancy was a life long resident of Des Moines. Her children can remember spending a few summers away as a family throughout the years. Nancy retired from Northwestern Bell Phone Company after 20 years as a Directory Assistant Operator.

Nancy was married to Gerald Malone for 16 years. They were true life partners and supported each other in their sobriety. Just recently Nancy received her bronze 30 year, recovery anniversary medallion. Nancy was a loving mother to 6 children, Calvin, Shelley, Ricky, Dennis, Nancy and Liz.



Nancy was a card player! She loved a good game of spades, phase 10 and bingo. She enjoyed the casino and could often be found at Prairie Meadows or in Tama. She loved football and was proud Green Bay Packers fan.



Nancy stepped from time into eternity on January 22, 2015. She was greeted with open arms by her husband , Gerald Malone, her parents, Willard Henderson and Clara Ione, her sister, Ruthy Dillavou and her great-grandchildren, Jaylynn Johnson and Christopher Illingworth.

Left to cherish Nancy's memory are her children; Calvin "Jay" Leroy Deaton Jr, Shelley Walker (Dick Hauff), Ricky Deaton (Jackie Michael), Dennis Lee (Cindy) Deaton, Nancy (Chuck) Determan and Liz (Mike) Polhemus, her 12 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren, her sister; Glenda (Richard) Thompson and her brother in-law; Glen Dillavou, her beloved cat; Midnight, along with a host of extended relatives, good friends and neighbors.
