Paula Marie Robinson

Sister Paula M. Robinson, 79, passed away May 26, 2023.

Homegoing services are planned for Saturday, June10, 2023 at 11am from East 17th Street Church of God in Christ.  A visitation is planned for Friday evening at Henderson's Funeral Home from 6-8pm.

Paula Marie Robinson was born in Des Moines, Iowa on August 20, 1943 to Royal Ernest Eugene Robinson and Ruth Ellen (Miller) Robinson. She was educated through the Des Moines Public School System and graduated from North High School. Paula worked 30-plus years at Drake University in the food service department.

Paula was a life long member of E. 17th St. COGIC Church. She helped lead young people with building relationships with the Lord. She served as an usher and helped during services and fellowship. Paula was apart of the Sunshine Band and YPWW! She often attended Holy International Convocations and loved traveling all over the United States. Paula frequently visited New Jerusalem and Mission Temple, so much so that she eventually had her own chair.

Paula worked at Brownies BBQ for some time. She could fry chicken, make a good steak and enjoy it with a Pepsi! Paula loved to take pictures (and steal them too). She had thousands of photos with family and friends. Paula could sing! Paula sang in the choir, bedroom and in the shower. She played gospel music and knew how to play a tambourine with some rhythm. Paula hated snakes and bugs with a passion. Paula really loved spending time with family and going to Reed’s Ice Cream to savor something sweet. Paula enjoyed shopping and dressing well.

Paula passed away May 26, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Royal Ernest Eugene and Ruth Ellen Robinson; and sisters, Cheryl, Rosalie and Lillie.

Paula Robinson is survived by her siblings, Phinest, Lloyd, Ruth Ellen, Royal, Faye, David, Johnathan , Teresa and God-Son, Christopher Norwood; along with a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
