Pearlie Cameron passed away on March 16, 2023. Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Revival Center Church in Des Moines.


Pearlie Lucille Cameron was born on July 7, 1951 in Ripley, Mississippi to Charles Knox and Ruth Knox. Pearlie was educated in the Mississippi School System where she met James Cameron, who she married on July 27, 1971. She was a believer in Christ. Pearlie worked all of her adult life.

Pearlie loved to travel one of her childhood dream places to visit was the Golden Gate Bridge; that dream came true. She visited several of the islands in Hawaii, Seattle, Denver and other places. She loved her patio garden of potatoes, tomatoes, onion, plants and flowers. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Pearlie loved listening to blues and going to concerts. She taught her kids how to cook, then she stopped cooking allowed them to cook for her. She had a bunny named Barney that was the family pet. Boo was her dog and she took care of her like her child until she passed away.

Pearlie is preceded in death by her parents, Ruth Knox Evans and Charles Knox; stepfather; Joe Evans, brothers; Donald Knox and Harvie Evans, Boo the dog, and Barney the rabbit.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, James Cameron; children, Monica Cameron, Chris Cameron and Regina Cameron; grandchildren, Austin, Davin, Keara, Ari, Isaac, Chayton, and Raine; siblings, Charles (Mattie) Knox of Nashville and Drucilla K. Hardy of Blue Mountain; and a host of extended family and friends.
