Robert "Gene" Payne

Robert "Gene" Payne, 87, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at the Rehab Center of Des Moines IA. He was born September 15, 1936 to the late James Etheridge and Elsie (Davis) Payne in Mountain Home, Arkansas. 

Gene loved fishing, family and music. He brought joy to many over the years playing and singing country music. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Reba, an infant brother, a niece Jenny and his grandson Wesley.

Gene is survived by two daughters Debra Barmore and Teresa Belsher,  two grandchildren; Jason and Haley,  four great grandchildren; Taylor, Destinee, Elizabeth a Wesley Jr., great great grandchildren and many other family and friends

Gene will be laid to rest in one of his favorite fishing spots in Arkansas.
