Viola Jones

Viola Mozella Jones was born January 11, 1951 in Des Moines, Iowa to James Williams and Mary Magdeline Allen.



Viola was educated in the Des Moines Public School system where she graduated. After graduation she found employment as a guest room attendant until her retirement.



Viola was a very social person who loved family gatherings. She enjoyed cooking and playing cards with friends, watching CSI television, movies, westerns and the game shows "Price is Right" and "Wheel of Fortune". Viola loved fishing and playing BINGO and spending time with her grandkids. Viola liked to have fun, but she demanded her respect and would fight to get it.



December 6, 2013, Viola was called from labor to reward. She was 62 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Williams and Mary Askew; her brother, Dudley C. Allen; her son, Michael C. Ballentine; along with many aunts and uncles.



Viola leaves to mourn, her husband, Ira L. Jones; her sons, William Rudd, Jr., Rance Jones, Rodney Jones, and Rory Jones; her daughters, Michelle (Quentin) Logan, Lynn Ballentine and Nakisha James; her brothers, William Brown, Michael Williams and Sam Allen; her sisters, Dora (Larry) Whitman and Donna (Don) Allen; 14 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and a host of extended family and friends.
