Virgie Mae Carl

Virgie Mae Carl (82) passed away on September 23, 2020. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at Glendale Cemetery. Viewing will be held prior to service at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

CDC guidelines will be followed with masks required during the Visitation and Graveside Services. Social Distancing is encouraged.

Virgina Mae Carl was born on February 17,1938, in Glasgow, Missouri to the late Vernon and Nellie Wright.

Virgie attended Dalton High School in Dalton, Missouri. She later moved to Des Moines, Iowa, and married the love of her life, Gerald Leonard Carl Sr. To this union, two children were born; Gerald Jr. and Cheryl.

Virgie was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church for many years until her health issues became too much. Her favorite color was lavender.

Virgie enjoyed baking and being a homemaker. Family was always her number one priority. She also loved to travel with Jerry.

Virgie passed away on September 23, 2020.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Vernon and Nellie; her sister, Olivia Wright; brothers: Vernon, Leo, Donald, Kenneth, Joe and Raydell Wright and son, Gerald L. Carl, Jr.

Those left to cherish Virgies loving memories are her husband of 62 years, Jerry Leonard Carl Sr.; her daughter, Cheryl Elaine Carl; sisters: Joyce Dixon, Emerita Wright, Alice Morton, Patricia Brown, Carolyn Cropp; and brothers, Keith and Wayne Wright, along with a host of extended family members and friends.

In concern for family and friends during Covid19 no additional inside gathering will be held. Social distancing and mask are preferred at graveside services. Please respect the families wishes to keep with safe practices by avoiding gathering at their home and allowing them private time to grieve.
