Virginia Camp

Virginia Camp, age 61, of Des Moines, Iowa passed away on 6/8/2024. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Elpis Christian Fellowship. Immediately following her visitation her funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Overseer Tammy Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines.

Virginia Louise Camp was born on April 27, 1963 to Donald (Duck) Allen and Caroline (Broots) Allen in Des Moines, Iowa. She was educated through the Des Moines Public School System and attended Technical High School. Virginia had met and married James Camp Sr. and was blessed to have a family with children. 

Virginia was good at maintaining her family. She was a role model to her children, grand-children and great-grandchildren. Virginia shared a lesson learned to others, which was “Don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing.” She learned and cultivated a relationship with the Lord by reading the Bible. Virginia enjoyed to color, read poetry , as well as dancing and getting her groove on. 

Virginia Louise Camp passed away on June 8, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carolyn (Brooks) and Donald Allen; Ruth Shade; 

Left to cherish her in memory are her husband, James Camp Sr.; children, Jamie Allen, James W. (Neishellette) Camp Jr., Janyssa (David) Cabbil, Erica Thompson, Amaya Millsap, Semaj Camp, Jamien Thompson, Montavious Camp, Laila Camp, Chayshaun Mcgruder, Jniala Mcgruder, Bella Camp, Romain Camp, Isis Turner, Darnell Camp, Qadir Thomas, Ausar Anderson, Kairo and a host of extended family and friends.
