William Gale Archer

William Gale Archer was born in Des Moines, Iowa on May 28, 1944, to Gertrude McElree. He was born and raised in Des Moines, and he attended East High School. William took a chance and established a professional pool playing career at 16 years old. Over the years, he mastered the art and became a pool shark. William would play 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. He even had the opportunity to travel the country to play pool in tournaments and for fun. William was ranked #1 in the early 80s.William would stop by every morning to see his kids and grandchildren. He would play and spend time with them at Jenny’s Daycare.

William Gale Archer passed away on May 4, 2025. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gertrude Harvey and brothers. 

He is survived by his children, Bill Archer Jr., Cindy Archer, Jenny (Dennie) Gwyin, and Rick (Heather) Archer; his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; along with a host of extended family and friends.
